EDUCAUSE: Campus Management to Acquire
Fundraising Software Leader, Donor2
Strategic Acquisition Allows Campus Management
to
Integrate Donor2 Software with its ERP administrative system, CampusVue
(Boca Raton/Orlando, FL – October 18, 2005) –
Campus Management Corporation, a leader in enterprise resource planning
(ERP) software for higher education, today announced an agreement
to acquire Systems Support Services, known as Donor2, the namesake
of its top-rated alumni relations and fundraising software solution.
The strategic acquisition, announced today at EDUCAUSE 2005 in Orlando,
enables Campus Management to integrate its CampusVue™ administrative
system for higher education with one of the most competitive alumni
relations and fundraising software solutions available. For Donor2,
the implementation and technical support services infrastructure of
Campus Management will make it possible for Donor2 to successfully
scale delivery and support of the its solution, as well as to address
larger, more complex implementation and data conversion projects.
Both firms share development competencies and compatible technology
platforms based on Microsoft® .NET technology, which is expected
to enable rapid integration of their solutions.
Donor2 operations will continue at its Charlotte, NC headquarters,
and the founders and staff will be offered employment with Campus
Management. Donor2’s management team will focus on the philanthropic
segments of the market, such as community-based organizations, healthcare,
and associations. Campus Management will leverage its sales and marketing
group to support their drive into higher education. Donor2 currently
serves 350 clients at 500 sites, and over 3,000 users. Clients include
institutions of higher education, Goodwill Industries, Meals on Wheels,
YMCA, and numerous health foundations.
“Donor2 is a perfect complement to Campus Management in every
respect,” said David Meek, chief executive officer, Campus Management.
“Our cultures, our missions, and our technologies are like hand
in glove.
“Professionals in fundraising and donor relations are seeking
a more responsive company with deeper dedication to customer service,”
said Meek. “Our companies share the same work ethic and I think
this will be a case of one plus one equals three. This is the right
acquisition for us—a strong product, a highly respected company,
and a technology platform that complements our company’s mission
and flagship product.”
Campus Management’s strategy going forward is to incorporate
Donor2’s software as an integral part of its CampusVue administrative
solution and to offer the solution to its installed base of more than
900 campuses as an alternative to the short list of “best of
breed” enterprise-class advancement and alumni packages now
on the market. In addition to higher education, Campus Management
serves Outward Bound, Jewish Employment and Vocational Services, and
other noted non-profit organizations having educational programs.
Campus Management will continue to sell and support the Donor2 brand
as a standalone solution throughout the non-profit marketplace, including
the education market.
“This strategic combination of our two companies is going
to provide enormous benefits to our current customers, as well as
prospective customers in the higher education and philanthropic markets,”
said Brian Larsen, President of Systems Support Services. “We
look forward to merging our industry-leading software solutions and
leveraging the strengths of our two companies as one, and continuing
our tradition of delivering outstanding customer service.”
In a related announcement, Michael Kohmescher has been named to a
newly created position, as Business Development Manager-Alumni Relations
& Advancement, for Campus Management. Kohmescher joined the company
last month to help spearhead the integration of Donor2 at several
of its charter sites. Charter sites include two universities already
partnering with Campus Management as part of its 2005 Campus of Excellence
initiative. Prior to Campus Management, Kohmescher provided sales,
marketing and solutions strategy to higher education for Ciber, a
software implantation services company. He also served as Peoplesoft’s
product strategy manager for its Contributor Relations, Recruiting
and Admissions solutions. Kohmescher has extensive experience as a
product consultant working for major firms marketing advancement and
alumni solutions to higher education.
Donor2’s product suite features rich functionality to manage
the entire cycle of fundraising – including highly personalized
constituent relationship management, analysis, and management of fund-raising
campaigns, including Web browser capabilities.
An EDUCAUSE Silver Sponsor, Campus Management is exhibiting its CampusVue
ERP, CampusVantage Financials & HR, and Donor2 advancement products
at the industry’s largest trade show this week in Orlando, Florida.
